Orchestra Ascend, an architectural project planned for Prague’s historic Old Town Square, aims to seamlessly integrate with the square’s existing architectural heritage and landmarks while emphasizing a sense of upward progression and inspiration, as reflected in its name. This project seeks to harmoniously blend into the urban fabric, respecting the square’s rich historical value and its appeal to visitors from around the world, all while aligning with its dynamic atmosphere that bridges tradition and modernity. A key focus of the design is on public versus private circulation, with careful coordination of various routes to create distinct experiences for different types of people.
The spatial arrangement is intricately designed to continue the historical boulevard, providing a meaningful historical reference while infusing fresh and innovative design elements. Notably, the concert hall opens up into the courtyard through a descending march that commences from the private spaces, gradually leading into the inner courtyard. This architectural feature enhances the overall ensemble, offering visitors an exceptional experience and enriching the allure of Old Town Square, ultimately contributing to the architectural legacy of this iconic location.
